What Is Functional Rhinoplasty?
Unlike cosmetic rhinoplasty, which addresses the outside of the nose, functional rhinoplasty is designed to combat structural issues inside the nose that contribute to congestion, sinusitis, nosebleeds, and discomfort. It can correct concerns such as a deviated septum, enlarged turbinates, or collapsed nasal valves, as well as trauma-related deformities.
During the procedure, Dr. Fournier removes or repositions cartilage, fortifies weakened structures, and enhances alignment, helping patients to breathe freely and enjoy enhanced peace of mind. While performed on its own with excellent outcomes, functional rhinoplasty can also be combined with cosmetic procedures to address imperfections in the nasal bridge, tip, or nostrils.
