On the day of your surgery, we will welcome you warmly into our state-of-the-art practice in Albany and help you get settled in our comfortable, discreet surgical suite. After briefly reviewing your care plan and answering any last-second questions, we will administer general anesthesia. This allows you to fall into a deep sleep while Dr. Fournier refines and reshapes your nose, free from pain and anxiety.
During surgery, Dr. Fournier will create your incisions on the outside or the inside of the nose. Open rhinoplasty involves an incision across the columella at the base of the nose. The scar will be tiny and inconspicuous after it heals. In closed rhinoplasty, incisions are made inside the nose, where the scars will later be completely hidden from view. The doctor will select the best surgical method based on your anatomy and goals.
Next, the doctor will adjust the nasal bone and cartilage and correct imperfections according to your customized treatment plan. The goal is to create a nose that better suits your face and improves overall harmony among the features. Once all changes have been made, Dr. Fournier will close your incisions and place you in the recovery area until it is safe for you to return home.
